Cut your grass higher and water it less
The single change that does the most for a lawn in the south.
Short grass exposes soil to the sun, the soil dries, and the roots follow it up and shallow out.
At three inches the blade shades its own root zone and holds moisture for days longer.
Never take more than a third of the height in one cut. That is what yellows a lawn.
